The Pauls Valley Arts Council and Pauls Valley Daily Democrat is proud to announce the return of the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America to Pauls Valley.
Only this time area music lovers will get a double treat as two of the bands from the Air Force Band corps will be performing in a special Monday, May 8, concert.
“Last year we were fortunate to host the Air Force’s ‘Shades of Blue’ Jazz Band. This year we’ve been able to get two bands in one concert. This will definitely be a treat for everyone,” said Jeff Shultz, president of the PVAC and publisher of the Daily Democrat.
The Lincolnland Brass Quintet and the Band of Mid-America Woodwind Quintet will feature a wide variety of music formats during the concert including jazz, ragtime, marches and patriotic music.
Both bands will be performing at the Pauls Valley High School Auditorium. The concert will be free to the public, but due to the high demand for both groups advance free admission tickets will be required.
The Woodwind Quintet will also be in Pauls Valley on Tuesday, May 9, for a special educational session with Pauls Valley and Junior High School band members, Shultz said.
“We feel very fortunate these U.S. Air Force Bands want to come to Pauls Valley to entertain and educate our students. This is one of the goals of the Pauls Valley Arts Council, to offer arts educational opportunities for our students,” he said.
Free admission tickets for the concert will be available beginning Monday, April 3, at the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce Office.
