‘Hotel Transylvania’ one tear-jerk scene short of fangtastic

DVD Review

(Continued)

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma —

While there are moments where adults can have as much a blast as kids watching this, it is definitely leaning toward being favored by those young enough to enjoy a healthy dose of be nice morals. One of the things I enjoyed most was seeing the style of one of my favorite animators, Genndy Tartakovsky, who brought forth such genius works as “Dexter’s Laboratory” and “Samarai Jack.”

You can definitely see his influence there with the quirky character design and interactions straight out of Saturday mornings. It’s even worth checking out the extra short included on the DVD, “Goodnight Mr. Foot,” where you can see how the universe could be expanded pretty well on media in the future. As a result, I’d say “Hotel Transylvania” earns three and a half out of five screams.
