‘Kick A** 2’ less groundbreaking, but still a silly gore fest

DVD Review

(Continued)

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma —

Though it was entertaining to see Carrey pretend to be a born again mobster, the real entertainment was again Hit Girl’s in your face personality and every single giggle-inducing scene with Mother Russia. No matter how bland other parts of the movie might get or where the plot got lost, these two characters keep you interested right until they meet in a “Rocky IV” worthy showdown.

As with the previous flick, the R rating is earned and is only recommended for the not so easily offended adult crowd. I’m indifferent on if it is worth building up to another sequel, but would at least give a third movie a shot to see the story brought to a conclusion. For at mercifully killing my time it’s all worth three out of five expletives for “Kick A** 2.”
