Tragedy strikes at PV lake

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Pauls Valley authorities confirmed earlier today it was 6-year-old Ava Bells of Shawnee who drowned in Longmire Lake the night before.

Bells was with others in the designated swimming area on the north side of the PV area lake when she went under the water and was reported missing early Sunday night.

A large group of first responders descended on the lake, where they literally waded into the water before finding the young girl’s body.

More details about the tragedy will be in the Tuesday edition of the Pauls Valley Democrat.
