Body found in PV creek bed

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — The shocking discovery of a dead body being discovered in a portion of Rush Creek in Pauls Valley came early this morning.

Authorities have identified the dead man as 22-year-old Jerry Lytle, who is believed to be from Maysville.

It was at 1:44 a.m. Tuesday when Pauls Valley police officers responded to the Love’s truck stop near Interstate 35 and Airline Road in southern PV on a call about some type of fight.

Leads then took the officers to the bank of the local creek only a few blocks south of PV’s police station. There they found the deceased body of a male, later identified as Lytle.

Although the cause of death has not yet been determined police officials say it was murder.

“There was an altercation there at the creek, and it is a homicide,” said PV Police Chief Mitch McGill.

“I expect arrests to be made today,” he said early Tuesday afternoon.
