The Garvin County Health Department will get started next week with its seasonal influenza vaccination clinics schedule for the upcoming flu season.
Clinics will begin Monday, Oct. 1 as the health department will be offering flu shots at the Pauls Valley and Lindsay locations.
All times are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Medicare clients only on Oct. 1 at both sites. The shots are offered to all clients in Pauls Valley from Oct. 2 through Oct. 5, while in Lindsay the day is Oct. 5.
The health department will provide flu vaccinations to all persons who are on Medicare (including those with HMO’s) or SoonerCare (Medicaid) and children eligible for the vaccines for children program at no charge.
Those with private insurance or resources to pay will be charged a $25 fee.
However persons enrolled in HealthChoice Insurance or Oklahoma Public Employee’s Health & Welfare (OPEH&W) benefit plan can receive a flu vaccination at no charge.
Persons with these insurances will be required to provide their insurance card and driver’s license before receiving the vaccination.
Based on income guidelines others may also qualify monetarily for vaccines at no charge.
Beginning Oct. 8, flu shots through general clinics will be offered each Monday and Thursday in Pauls Valley and Mondays only in Lindsay from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. until no vaccine is available.
