County Flower, Vegetable Show set for June 16

The Garvin County Flower & Vegetable Show is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Garvin County Fairgrounds. Entries will be taken from 8:00 -10:00 a.m. Judging will begin at 12:00.

Start planning now to enter your prize flowers and vegetables. There are 54 categories of flower entries to choose from, so there's something for everyone.

Several varieties of Roses, Perennials, and Annuals are featured as entry choices, along with potted plants and flower arrangements. A category for hanging baskets, trailing plants and terrariums is also featured.

Twenty four categories are offered in the vegetable division. Among those categories you'll find several for onions, peppers, potatoes and squash.

Those placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive cash awards and ribbons. Awards will also be given for the Division Champions, Reserve Grand Champion and Overall Grand Champion.

A Horticulture Judging Contest will be also held, with judging beginning at 1:30 p.m. This contest is open to individuals as well as 4-H and OHCE Teams and consists of judging and identification of plant specimens.
