A benefit poker run and raffle to benefit cancer patient Glen Norman is planned for Saturday, Aug. 23.
Norman, born and raised in Pauls Valley and a lifelong resident of Garvin County has been battling cancer for a year.
He and his wife, Patsy (Turner) Norman, lived in Paoli. They have two children and four grandchildren.
The poker run meant to help with Norman’s mounting medical costs gets started at 1 p.m. with registration at Kay Busey Park by the Elmore City Lake.
With $10 for the first hand and $5 for an additional hand, the first bike is scheduled to go out at 2 p.m. with the last bike set for 6 p.m.
Raffle tickets are available at registration and before drawings. The drawings and awards will come at 7 p.m.
Catfish, burgers and cold drinks will be available at the last stop.
Primitive camping will be available at the EC Lake at a cost of $5 per tent each night.
Donations for Norman’s medical expenses will be accepted during the event and can also be given to funds set up at Pauls Valley National Bank and the Elmore City branch bank.
