Pauls Valley — Pauls Valley and Lindsay were well represented during the recent 31st Annual Cameron University Interscholastic Contest in Lawton.

Lawton’s Eisenhower High School and Comanche High School earned the top prizes in their respective divisions at

Eisenhower High School won the Sweepstakes Award for Type I schools, and Comanche claimed the Sweepstakes Award for Type II schools.

Type I schools consist of those in Class 5A and Class 4A, and Type II is comprised of those classified as 3A, 2A, A and B, per the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association.

Hundreds of students from 19 area schools competed in 52 different academic events ranging from accounting and biology to woodwind instruments and world history.

The Eisenhower Eagles continued to dominate the Type I class with 442 points, claiming the top prize for the 12th consecutive year.

Southmoore High School finished second, followed by Altus High School in third place. Westmoore High School and Pauls Valley High School took fourth and fifth place respectively.

Comanche reclaimed the top spot in Type II with 225 points for their ninth overall win, followed by Cache High School and Elgin High School.

Apache High School edged past Lindsay High School for fourth place.

Other Type II competitors were Big Pasture, Cement, Chattanooga, Cyril, Ft. Cobb-Broxton, Geronimo, Lawton Christian, Snyder, Walters and Waurika.
