Speed and alcohol are believed to have been involved in a weekend accident that resulted in an injury for a Pauls Valley woman.
Hurt in the one-vehicle accident was Tammi L. Giannini, 24.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report shows Giannini was alone while driving a 2006 Honda Civic eastbound on a county road literally only a few feet south of the PV city limits.
Specifically it was 23 feet out of Pauls Valley and at a listed time of 10:23 p.m. Saturday when Giannini’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway on a curve striking a driveway embankment.
The driver was pinned in the vehicle for about 20 minutes before being freed by Pauls Valley firefighters.
Investigating troopers reported it was the unsafe speed of the vehicle while it was on a a curve that caused the wreck.
It was also reported an odor of alcohol was coming from Giannini moments after the accident.
Giannini, who was not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, was initially transported by Pauls Valley E.M.S. to PV General Hospital.
She was later airlifted with a leg injury to Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. When Giannini was admitted she was listed in good condition.
Also assisting troopers at the scene were PV police.
