Construction is currently underway and it will be a matter of only a few months now before Pauls Valley area residents have a new strip mall in which to shop.
Located at the junction of Meridian Road and state Highway 19, just north of the Pauls Valley Wal-Mart Super Center, the new mall will be spread over a large area and house a wide variety of businesses.
“The mall will cover approximately 17,000 square feet and, even though the building will be only one story, the walls will be pretty tall — about 30 feet,” explained mall developer Steve Reeves.
“It’s going to be a very nice high-dollar building and we’ll have 11 different spaces available for businesses. Right now we have about 60 percent of the spaces leased,” Reeves said.
“The businesses who are coming in so far include the First United Branch Bank with drive-thru, an AT&T Phone Center, the Green Tea Buffet Chinese restaurant, Baby D’s coffee and sandwich shop, and the Nail and Pedicure Spa.”
With the landscaping completed and the concrete slab poured, construction workers are now busy erecting steel beams that will lend structural strength to the new shopping mall.
Building superintendent Larry Metts said progress on the mall was slowed somewhat while crews were awaiting the arrival of large steel trusses which will be used to support the large roof of the new facility.
The trusses finally arrived earlier this week and, barring inclement weather and unforeseen problems, the new shopping mall is expected to be completed somewhere around the first of the year.
Area residents interested in leasing any of the remaining spaces at the mall may do so by calling Steve Reeves at 580-920-1444.
