Peep charge not a new one

By Barry Porterfield
Pauls Valley Daily Democrat

A Lindsay man, for the fourth time, faces the formal allegation he was taking an unlawful peek into a residence. Jared Don Bray, 30, appeared at a recent hearing in Garvin County District Court on the misdemeanor charge of Peeping Tom.

It’s not the first time for Bray, who has three previous Peeping Tom cases still pending against him. In each of the cases Bray is accused of sneaking up to a Lindsay home and peeking inside. His most recent charge alleges he was caught in the act of looking through a window of a Lindsay home last month.

A woman who lives in the 700 block of David in Lindsay told police she was standing in her living room in front of her television when she turned around and saw a man looking through a window at her, according to an affidavit filed in District Court.

The man is reported to quickly run from the scene.

Lindsay police officials were told the woman’s husband, after being awakened, went outside to check things out. He claimed to see a man looking through the windows at a neighbor’s house before screaming at him to stop.

The woman who initially claimed to see the man looking through her home’s window reportedly later picked out Bray as the suspect when she was shown a photo lineup at Lindsay’s police station.

Two of the peeping tom charges against Bray date back to June 2008 when he was accused of looking into two different Lindsay homes.

A third dates back to August 2007, which is alleged to have involved another Lindsay residence.

In all three cases Bray has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 25.

In this more recent case the defendant also has a hearing set for next month. Bray was also ordered to stay away from the residence where the alleged peeping incident took place.
