Pauls Valley Democrat
Pauls Valley, Oklahoma —
It’s dinner and a show and much more for Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce members preparing to gather for an annual banquet this week.
Advance tickets are now available for the banquet set to get underway at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the Bosa Community Center, located next to the local high school.
Check out the chamber office at 112 East Paul to find out more about those advance tickets, which are $20. The cost is $25 on the day of the event.
The banquet will again feature the announcement of the selections for the chamber’s citizen and corporate citizen of the year. Those getting the honors are selected by past winners.
This year’s selections haven’t been named yet, leaving a bit of mystery for Thursday night’s banquet and dinner.
Opening the banquet will be remarks from Gary Parks of the Southwestern Directory, also known as The Red Book.
Then comes a welcome from Howard Grider, who is this year’s incoming chair for the local chamber’s board of directors.
A Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard will then present the flag ceremony.
After the Pledge of Allegiance and the playing of “America the Beautiful,” a special performance will be given by the Pauls Valley High School Woodwind Choir.
Grider and Janet Moore, the chamber board’s outgoing chair, will next offer some of their thoughts on the chamber.
The “outstanding service and community partnerships” awards will be presented by chamber President Della Wilson.
That’s followed by the 2013 Citizen of the Year award to be presented by last year’s honoree, Richelle Humphrey.
The 2013 Corporate Citizen of the Year award will be presented by Jeff Shultz of the Garvin County News Star, which was the honoree last year.
A live auction and a few remarks are then scheduled to close out this year’s chamber banquet.
