One hurt in area wreck

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — One vehicle failing to stop at a “T” intersection near Pauls Valley resulted in an accident and one injury this week.

State authorities also concluded the driver had been drinking alcohol as the one-vehicle accident occurred at a listed time of 8:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 at a site about 3 miles south and 4 miles west of PV.

Hurt in the accident was Rachel O’Bryant, 31, of Davis.

O’Bryant was one of two passengers in a 2004 Honda Accord driven by Brandon Christian, 29, of Elmore City. Also in the vehicle was Desiree Hill, 31, Elmore City.

A report released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shows the vehicle was traveling southbound on County Road 3180 when it failed to stop at the “T” intersection with another county road, CR 1610.

The vehicle then went off the road striking a ditch embankment, where it overturned one-half time coming to rest on its top.

O’Bryant was airlifted from the scene to Norman Regional Hospital, where she was admitted in stable condition with internal and external trunk injuries.

Both Christian and Hill refused treatment at the scene for arm and leg injuries.

OHP Trooper Jay Clary of the Murray/Garvin County Detachment concluded in the report the accident occurred because the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign.

The condition of the driver was listed as having his ability impaired from drinking.

None of the individuals in the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the report.

Assisting at the scene were other troopers, Garvin County deputies and Elmore City firefighters, police and E.M.S., along with Pauls Valley firefighters and E.M.S.
