Big winner for seed spittin’ title

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Scott Davis of nearby Davis was the overall winner of the 2014 Watermelon Seed Spitting Championship this past week.

Davis launched a seed nearly 40 feet to win the men’s 19 and over category during the holiday event at Pauls Valley’s July 4th celebration in the local Wacker Park.

Winners in the different categories included:

Boys 12 and under

1st - Christopher Dismukes, 31 ft., 7 in.

2nd – Jacob Miller, 24 ft., 4 in.

3rd – Chris Ritchey, 22 ft. 10 in.

Girls 12 and under

1st – Jade Potts, 27 ft., 9 in.

2nd – Taylor Dismukes, 24 ft, 1 in.

3rd – Lily Myers, 23 ft., 5 in.

Men 13 to 18 years

1st – Carter Pennington, 34 ft, 5 in.

2nd – Justin Ninemire, 30 ft., 5 in.

3rd – Tyler Crump, 24 ft., 4 in.

Women 13 to 18 years

1st – Mallory Ferrell, 30 ft., 4 in.

2nd – Drew Dismukes, 23 ft., 8 in.

3rd – Sheridan Grunsted, 17 ft., 3 in.

 

Men 19 years and over

1st – Scott Davis, 39 ft., 4 in.

2nd – Daniel Miller, 37 ft., 1 in.

3rd – Wayne Jackson, 35 ft., 11 in.

Women 19 years and over

1st – Toni Looney, 30 ft., 11 in.

2nd – Linda Miller, 28 ft.

3rd – Reva Ingner, 22 ft., 11 in.
