Search still on for bank robber — There’s no suspect in custody and little new information available on a bank robbery in Pauls Valley earlier this week.

In the hours following a powerful weekend storm ripping through Pauls Valley, a lone man covering his face with a colorful bandana created even more chaos by robbing the First United Bank branch office on the west side of PV.

No new details about the robbery have been made available as authorities continue to work the case.

Mitch McGill, Pauls Valley’s police chief, said on Wednesday the bank robber has not yet been found.

“We’ve got a few leads, but nothing’s panned out yet,” McGill said.

“We’re going to continue to follow up on all the leads.”

It was early Monday afternoon when the suspect walked into the local bank.

Authorities have not released the amount of money taken by the robber, who put the cash into a white plastic garbage sack and left the bank.

Also unknown is whether or not the man revealed a weapon to any bank employee during the robbery.

Known for sure is the man got into a red or maroon colored four-door car and drove away traveling westbound on state Highway 19 in front of the bank’s location.

The suspect’s route from there is apparently unknown at this time.

It’s believed the vehicle had been parked at a gas station that’s among the stores in the shopping area next to the busy intersection of Grant and Indian Meridian streets only a few blocks from Interstate 35.

Joining Pauls Valley police in the search for the robber are agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The robber is described as a white male estimated to be in his 40s or early 50s with a slender build and “salt and pepper” hair, referring to a mix of gray in his hair color.

The man, described as standing between 6 feet to 6 feet, 4 inches tall, was wearing light blue jeans and a brown shirt.

Surveillance cameras inside the bank also showed the man wore a lime green bandana over his face during the robbery.

The Oklahoma Bankers Association is now offering a reward up to $2,000 for information on the suspect robbing the Pauls Valley bank.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pauls Valley Police Department at 405-238-5531 or the FBI at 405-307-7712.
