Pauls Valley, Oklahoma —
A hotly contested school bond issue in Wynnewood will soon get an answer as Tuesday, April 1 is election day.
On the ballot for Wynnewood voters is a $20.3 million school bond issue.
If passed by at least 60 percent support the issue will go to build a new elementary school in Wynnewood.
This bond issue, if approved by voters today, would pay for the new grade school to be constructed on the north side of town near the Wynnewood football stadium. It would house students up through the fifth grade.
With the district’s middle school building facing ongoing problems because of its location in a floodplain, students in grades six through eight would then be moved into the current elementary school.
Garvin County precincts open to 7 p.m. include:
• Trucks Unlimited, located on the northeast corner at state Highway 29 and Interstate 35.
• Bosa Community Center’s conference room in Pauls Valley, located near the high school campus.
• Wynnewood Senior Citizens Center, located at 804 East Robert S. Kerr.
• Walker Fire Department, located on County Road 3330 between PV and Stratford.
