Pauls Valley voters are reminded today is the day to cast ballots for a city council runoff race.
Polls are open up through 7 p.m. Tuesday for an election that has Hal Blevins, a one-term incumbent on the Pauls Valley City Council, going against challenger Zac Brumley.
Local precincts open for the election include:
• the Meridian branch of the PV National Bank
• AFLAC building on Airline Road
• Donihoo-Colley Complex on Melville Drive
• PV’s First United Methodist Church at Willow and Rennie streets
• the Bosa Community Center.
One other precinct, the Bill Mitchell Complex in Lindsay, will is open for an Alex school vote.
In the local election Blevins and Brumley are squaring off again after they were the top vote-getters out of the three candidates running in the primary election early last month.
The council office includes a four-year term.
Another vote this summer will come in Stratford.
A special election has been scheduled for July 9 after Stratford’s mayor, John Jolley, recently resigned from the position.
The search for a replacement on the Stratford Town Council begins with a three-day filing period from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, May 20-22.
The Ward 5 trustee office includes a two-year term ending in 2015.
