Pauls Valley, Oklahoma —
A man facing a trio of charges accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl in Garvin County is now out on bail awaiting the next court appearance in December.
Freed after a $25,000 bond was posted this week was 39-year-old Jason Lyle Wood.
During Wood’s initial court appearance in the case prosecutors asked for a bond of $75,000.
Wood is facing felony charges of rape, forcible sodomy and lewd molestation, all filed Friday, Nov. 1 in Garvin County District Court.
Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department confirmed Wood has worked there for 13 years with the past decade as a dispatcher.
Wood, a family friend of the girl, is accused of committing a variety of inappropriate and illegal acts with the young girl at a residence in the Foster area.
Court records show Wood is accused of committing the alleged sexual acts starting this past summer and continuing through October.
Those same records also indicate Wood is accused of giving the teen a cell phone and having her text him messages and possibly photos on a daily basis.
A preliminary hearing conference date has been scheduled for Dec. 13 in a Garvin County District courtroom in Pauls Valley.
A date for a preliminary hearing in the case could be scheduled at that time.
