‘Kick A** 2’ less groundbreaking, but still a silly gore fest
Debates will rage on the impact of violence in media until the last severed limb flies, but until we all live in Pleasantville internment camps, I’m going to enjoy the occasional therapeutic calm that comes with the classic bloodbath action flick.
‘R.I.P.D.’ may be a dumb ride, but a fun one
With the awards season situation looking like another typical Oscars where I’ve either not seen a majority of the flicks nominated or only liked the ones that were snubbed, I figured it was time once again to love the box office bomb.

‘Last Vegas’ crotchety hilarity at its best
I only hope that the day I cross the threshold of my youth into the senior years of life that most of my hilarity is still based on snarky humor instead of progressive brain decay.
‘Thor: Dark World’ hammers through acceptable sequel
Many a critic can complain all the live long day how countless movies so easily discard any semblance of a stable plot.
‘Captain Phillips’ a thrilling ballet of suspense, wit
Call it being more a fan of the fantasy that outgrew its reality, but despite a constant access to instant information, it’s hard not to associate even modern piracy with that old stereotype of swash buckling entertainment.
‘Prisoners’ takes freaking audience out to extreme
There are many blessings I can count in my life so far, like never having to experience the trauma of war or dealing with the loss of someone I know in a grisly manner.
‘Meatballs 2’ works best as 2013 animated sequel
As a way to provide a deeper meaning or justification as to why I love animated movies so much, I’ve always found them the perfect excuse to stick it to the people who think there’s some unwritten requirement to grow up.
