Francisco D. Arizaga
Francisco D. Arizaga, 84, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 9, 2008.
Frank was born June 20, 1923, to Francisco Arizaga Luque and Maria Lola Murillo de Arizaga in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Frank was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.
On August 10, 1946, he married Lavora Leah Spradlin in Norman, Oklahoma.
Frank pursued his career in Colombia; Sunray, Texas; Ecuador; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Beaumont and Houston, Texas. At his retirement, he was president of Faith Drilling Company.
He and Lavora retired in Midland, Texas, where they were members of St. Lukes Methodist Church and the Keystone Sunday School class. They traveled extensively, visiting China, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, Fiji, British Isles, France, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Russia, Norway, Panama, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Finland, Argentina, Mexico and Canada.
Frank is survived by his sister, Mariola Arizaga de Weisson of Guayaquil, Ecuador; his four children: Frisco Arizaga and wife Debbie of Arlington, Texas, Lali Ewan and husband Ken of Georgetown, Texas, Rebecca Armour and husband Spencer of Midland, Texas, and Nick Arizaga and wife Christy of Plano, Texas.
He is also survived by grandchildren: Flint Arizaga, Andrew and Melissa Arizaga, Bry, Kelly and Marley Ewan, Kendall Ewan and Justin Smith, Emily, Craig and Claire Serold, Davis Armour, Allison Arizaga and Cameron Arizaga.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life and soulmate Lavora Leah Spradlin Arizaga, and sisters Susanna Arizaga de Velez and Pilar Arizaga de Albinana.
A memorial service was held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas.
