Bill M. Carr, 84, of Maysville, Okla., was born on July 10, 1925 at Newcastle, Okla., to Oscar Thomas Tillman and Janie Cassel Carr. He passed away from this life on Monday afternoon, November 9, 2009 at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.

Bill grew up in Newcastle, attending school there and graduating in 1943. On April 16, 1949, he married Sadie Wood in Tuttle, Okla.

While living in Newcastle he served on the school board for 9 years, Sunday School director for 9 years, taught junior high boys in Sunday School and taught the young people in Training Union.

In 1971 they moved to Maysville to start their own business, Carr Dairy, and to farm. Bill felt he was “called to farm” and enjoyed riding horses. He was a member of D.F.A. and C.O.M.P.A. Bill was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Maysville, where he served as a deacon. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sadie of the home; sons: Terry Carr and his wife Sherri of Maysville, and Tim Carr and his wife Dana of Maysville; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Carr of Ardmore; sisters: Helen Riley of Tyler, Texas and Betty Staudt of Rogers, Arkansas; brothers-in-law: Monroe Betts of Plano, Texas and J.D. Wood of Sulphur; sister-in-law and husband, Erma and Cletis Lee of Amber, Okla.; grandchildren: Kayla Nicholson and her husband Kent, Todd Carr and his wife Terra, Kristen Carr, Ty Carr and his wife Courtney, and Bryan Carr and his wife Francie; and great-grandchildren: Kort Nicholson, Toby and Taryn Carr, Abby and Ellie Carr.

He was loved by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tony on February 17, 2009; and sisters, Armilda Pack and Marie Betts.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church at Maysville, Oklahoma. Rev. Charles Henthorn, Rev. Ralph Chapman, Rev. Cletis Lee and Chuck Shilling will officiate with burial at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home.
