Ruby Marie Black, 72, of Pauls Valley was born September 17, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas to Robert and Willie Pearl (Seay) Alexander.
She was raised in Seminole, Texas and has made Pauls Valley her home since 1986.
Ruby was a Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked at the Pauls Valley State School and later the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center for more than 25 years.
Surviving family includes her children: Katrina and Richard Hicks of Cheney, Kansas, Eddie Black of Yukon, Yvonne Matthews of Stillwater, and Chris Black of Murrieta, California; 11 grandchildren: Amy, Ashley, Kasey, Ryan, Chelsea, Peary, Matthew, Rachel, Stephanie, Kayla and Courtney; 7 great-grandchildren: Jourdyn, Trooper, Logan, Aubri, Manning, Mattie and Myles; as well as 17 brothers and sisters; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives, and many friends.
Ruby passed away November 3, 2012 in Odessa, Texas at the age of 72 years. She was preceded by her parents, a daughter Cassindra and a granddaughter Alicia.
Memorials are requested to be made to Christian Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 870, Pauls Valley, OK 73075.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance, officiated by Pastors Neil and Christy Barlow.
