Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Frankie Sawyer of Pauls Valley, Okla., was born on August 24, 1944 in Holdenville, Okla., to Frank Sawyer and Norma Jean Smith. He entered eternal life on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the age of 68 years.
Frankie spent his childhood days attending school in Andrews, Texas. He also attended mechanics school where he found joy in working on automobiles. Later, Frankie would serve in the United States Navy as a member of the Seabees. He served from 1966-1968.
After the service, Frankie returned to his home in Andrews, Texas, where he worked as a mechanic for Ballard Chevrolet and he also worked for Phillips Petroleum in Pecos, Texas.
In 1983, Frankie established “Frank’s Garage” in Elmore City continuing his work as a mechanic.
On October 18, 1999 Frankie married Janet (Brown) Schwartz in Pauls Valley, Okla. The couple was married by Charles Ledbetter.
A few of Frankie’s favorite hobbies were working on automobiles, football, and fishing. He is also a member of the Pentecostal Church of God Light of the World.
Frankie is survived by his wife Janet Sawyer and his sister Patsy Pyle, daughter Melissa Lynn, and four grandchildren Gracie, Lainie, Ryan, and Lilly.
He is proceeded in death by his brother Larry Sawyer and his parents Frank Sawyer and Norma Jean Smith.
Funeral services for Frank Sawyer were scheduled for Monday, March 18, 2013. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Ledbetter officiating.
Interment was at Mt. Olivet cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
