Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Robert R. “Bob” Yeiser of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born July 11, 1922 in Talmadge, Ohio to Fred and Helen (Payne) Yeiser.

He passed away August 3, 2013 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.

“Bob” grew up in Akron, Ohio where he married the love of his life, Margaret Frazier, in 1942. They were married 56 years at her passing in 1998.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 where he served three years in the Army Air Corp during World War II. During that time he served in the South Pacific. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon; Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal; Victory Medal World War II and earned the rank of Corporal.

After his discharge he moved to San Diego, California and worked in Civil Service until his retirement in 1973. He then started his own cleaning and maintenance business.

He completely retired in 1980 and traveled around the country with his wife. He loved to travel; his favorite mode of transportation was trains. His loved affair with trains began when he was 17. He hopped trains from Ohio to California; a trip that cemented his desire to someday to move there.

After traveling throughout all the country for two years, he settled in to a quiet life in the San Diego area.

In 1993 he and his wife moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma where he lived until his death. In 1999 he married Hazel Bogard; she preceded him in death in 2010.

Bob loved people and enjoyed a helping in any way possible including serving “Meals On Wheels” until he could no longer drive, volunteered at the Santa Fe Depot Museum, was a Commander of the local V.F.W. Post and an Advocate for Senior Citizens in Pauls Valley and continuing his love of travel as long as possible.

Surviving family include four children: Susan Meader and Candice Lamouree, both of San Diego, California, Gary Yeiser and his wife Marie of Elmore City, and Pam Lopez and her husband Mac of San Diego, California; 10 grandchildren: Mike, Tammy, Rob, Erik, Renee, Michelle, Shawn, Jeff, Scott and Amy; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine White of Whittier, California; and one brother, Fred Yeiser of Lompoc, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Helen Yeiser; his wife, Margaret Frazier Yeiser in 1998; his wife, Hazel Bogard Yeiser in 2010; a sister, Betty Strickland and brother, Joseph Yeiser.

Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Terry Erwin.
