Helen Stevenson, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at home in Ardmore. She was born January 20, 1932 in Ada to Cliff Jones and Annie Lee (Cook). Helen married Manley Stevenson of Ardmore on August 28, 1974.
Helen was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Mama, we were so blessed to have you in our lives.
Helen enjoyed talking about Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen. She loved singing gospel songs and ministering to sick and shut-in people needing prayer and deliverance. Last but not least, she loved family and her grandchildren. Helen took time to teach them responsibilities and Bible scriptures about Jesus Christ.
Helen is survived by her four children — three daughters: Helen Marie and Pinky Seals of Ada, Edna and Thacus Thompson of Denver, and Mary Williamson of Ardmore, and one son, Ernest Franklin of Tatums; two brothers: Sam Jones and wife Sharon of Antlers, and Raymond Jones and wife Dorthy of Chandler; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, family members and great friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Manley Stevenson; two sons, Ray Charles and Fred David Franklin; and one brother, Cliff Jones.
Services were Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 1020 7th Avenue NE, in Ardmore. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home in Elmore City, Okla.
