Lou Ella Prather Wade

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Lou Ella Prather Wade of Ardmore passed away February 21, 2014 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years.

Lou was born May 11, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Mark and Dolly Mae (Loper) Shadden.

Lou was raised in Pauls Valley and surrounding area. There she attended the Baptist Church. Pauls Valley has been her home all of her life except for the past year when she moved to Ardmore to be with her family there during her illness.

She worked as a Nurse’s Aide in local Health Care Facilities during her career. She was a very sweet person and never met a stranger as well as wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Dolly Mae Shadden; 2 brothers Claude Britt and Jessie Loper; 1 sister Lena Mae Peery and 3 grandchildren.

Surviving family include her 5 children: Joe Allen McCray of Lindsay, Brenda Lou Cook and her husband Phillip of Ardmore, Barbara Bennett and her husband Mike of Lexington, Eva Gage and her husband Craig of Elk City, and Becky White of Pauls Valley; 13 grandchildren: Joe Allen McCray Jr., Kyndall McCray, Timothy Cook, Belinda Sumner, Malissa Warren, Ryan Lee Dawson, Bradley Thomas Dawson, Ashley Lynn Dawson, Jeremy Farris, Tamara Cooper, Ariel Gage, Craig Gage, II, Colleen Nicole Gray and Candace Leeann Billy; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Sue Burns of Pauls Valley; 6 brothers: A.C. Loper of Pauls Valley, and Edward Britt of Pauls Valley, Paget Loper of Lindsay, Junior Loper of Pauls Valley, George Loper of Katie, and Ray Loper of Pauls Valley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance.

Interment will be at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
