Sylvia Elaine Tedder, 66, of Plain City, Ohio, formerly of Elmore City, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 14, 2013 at her residence.
Elaine was born on July 28, 1947, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Willis and Berneice Bailey.
The first born of three daughters, she attended all 12 years and graduated in 1965 from Elmore City, Oklahoma. Her senior year she was voted class favorite.
She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma majoring in Business/Executive Secretarial.
She married Geoffrey Tedder on March 10, 1972 and they resided in Fontana and Boscobel, Wisconsin prior to being transferred to the Plain City, Ohio area in 1985.
Elaine conceived four children - Lisa Marie, John Paul, Adam Geoffrey and Aimee Elisabeth.
She loved her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining others. She was a very loving wife and caring mother. She was always there to listen and provide encouragement and reach out to others in need. Being an excellent cook/hostess, she was blessed with a generous, selfless spirit of giving to others. She enjoyed going to auto races with her family and watching tennis competitions.
She was a devout Christian and believed in the power of prayer.
Throughout her life struggles with her health, she gave all the glory to God and the power of prayers from family and friends.
After fighting cancer for more than 6 years, Sylvia Elaine Tedder died peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013.
She was preceded in death by two children, Lisa Marie and John Paul Tedder; her father and mother, Willis and Berneice Bailey; and sister, Martha Joyce Bailey-Sheets.
Elaine is survived by her spouse, Geoffrey D. Tedder of Plain City; son, Adam Geoffrey Tedder; daughter, Aimee Elisabeth (Brian) Feldhaus; granddaughters, Ashtyn Salyer, Madison Feldhaus; sister, Mary Rachel Bailey; niece, Rena Polczynski; and nephew, Keith Brown.
Funeral services were held Sept. 19 at Ferguson Funeral Home in Plain City, Ohio.
Interment followed the service at Forest Grove Cemetery.
The family has requested donations be made in memory of Sylvia Elaine Tedder to The Vineyard Church of Plain City, 340 W. Main St., Plain City, OH 43064. In writing the check put Elaine in the memo line.
