Georgia Nelda Jean (McKee) Shreve

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Georgia Nelda Jean (McKee) Shreve, 64, a lifelong resident of Elmore City, Oklahoma, passed from this life at her home on Saturday, March 22, 2014.

Nelda was born to Troy and Willie Nell (Cassell) McKee on September 3, 1949 in Wynnewood, OklahoNelda married Frank Shreve on November 9, 1973 at her parent’s home in Elmore City. From this union came one son, J. Scott Shreve.

Nelda graduated from Elmore City High School in 1967 and went on to make a career in Oil and Gas as a Landman and later in Telecommunications as a Site Acquisition/Leasing Specialist. Nelda was well known for her dedication and determination.

At her death she was the owner and CEO of Stop Security Services Inc., a business she built from the ground up.

Nelda was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Women’s Auxiliary and the Oklahoma Landman Association.

During the years her son Scott was growing up Nelda was a faithful supporter of any activity he wanted to participate in from Scouts to baseball to football during his high school years. Nelda supported her community though her work with and donations to various clubs and organizations.

Nelda enjoyed many hobbies and was accomplished at anything she set her hand to. Nelda loved to do ceramics, paint, and crochet. She was an avid fisherman and in the day caught her fair share of Stripers in Soldier Creek at Lake Texoma.

The highlights of Nelda’s life were her granddaughters Mya and Brooklynn.

Nelda was preceded in death by her husband Frank Shreve; and her grandparents W.A. and Nellie (Horton) Cassell, and George and Mary (Raines) McKee.

Those left to cherish Nelda in memory are her son J. Scott Shreve; granddaughters Mya Shreve and Brooklynn Shreve; her parents Troy and Willie Nell McKee; one brother, Tem McKee and his wife Diane; niece Penny (McKee) and husband Coby Davis; and great nephew Tristan Davis, all of Elmore City, Okla.; and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 in the Elmore City First Baptist Church with Rev. Smokey Hurst officiating.

Interment will be in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
