Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — A visitation for family and friends to celebrate the life of Virginia F. Story, former longtime resident of Paoli, Okla., will be held in Selma, Calif., at the Page Funeral Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. Thurday, March 28.
A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Floral Memorial Park Cemetery in Selam.
Virginia was born December 9, 1929 and passed away March 22, 2013 at her home in Newcastle, California at age 83, following a long-term battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Virginia retired as an accountant from the J.C. Penney Co. in 1993, following a 25-year career. She was a prolific crocheter and spent countless hours lovingly creating beautiful afghans, slippers and other crocheted items for family and friends.
Preceding Virginia in death was her husband Phillip Story; parents Walter and Maggie Shatley; brothers Arlice, Homer, Clyde and J.V.; and sisters Thelma Story, Gwendolyn Shatley, Lois Wyatt, Minnie Stephens, Alta Sue Duncan and Alma Lue Conine, all former residents of the Paoli and the Pauls Valley area.
Virginia is survived by her sons and their families: Phillip and Becky of Williston, N.D. , Dennis and Pam of Newcastle, Calif., and Glenn of Selma, Calif.; grandchildren Aaron, Heather, Jared, Jenna and Icee; and great-grandchildren Preslee, Jhase and Lillianna.
