David Charles Allison of Katie, Oklahoma was born to Charlie and Jewell (Grizzell) Allison on August 20, 1929 in Wilson, Oklahoma and passed from this life on April 3, 2013 at his home at the age of 83 years.
David grew up and attended school in Wilson, Oklahoma. After graduation, he went to work helping his father move houses and later worked in the oil field, retiring from Exxon in 1986. He was called to serve his country during the Korean Conflict.
On September 8, 1951, David married Betty Wright in Wilson, Oklahoma. In his spare time he enjoyed dominoes, bird hunting, and taking care of his cattle.
Mr. Allison is survived by his wife Betty Allison of the home; son Jackie Allison and wife Renee of Red Oak, Oklahoma; daughter Rhonda Schafer and husband Larry of Hennessey, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Debbie Allison of Hennepin, Oklahoma; 1 niece Beth Tucker and husband Sonny of Wilson, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his son Charlie Allison; parents Charlie and Jewell Allison; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Katie Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wearthy Shank officiating.
Interment will be at 1 p.m. in the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson, Oklahoma under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
