Clifton Ray Dixon Sr.

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Clifton Ray Dixon Sr., a resident of Wynnewood, Okla., was born on June 14, 1935 in Wynnewood, Okla., to Artie (White) and Jackie Diberal Dixon. He passed away on September 30, 2013 in Ardmore, Okla., at the age of 78.

Mr. Dixon was married to Margaret (Oliver) on May 21, 1952 in Wynnewood, Okla. After marriage he spent a few years in California before returning to Wynnewood in 1968. He had worked as a farmer and rancher.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret on July 11, 2011, his parents, a brother – Franklin Dee Dixon, a sister – Shirley Gilley, a granddaughter – Brenda Ellen Haxton, father in law – Thurston Oliver, and mother and father in law – Joe and Annie Davis.

Survivors include 3 daughters and spouses – Sharon Ann and Merl Kimbro of Wynnewood, Okla., Brenda and Richard Hamilton of Lewisville, Texas, and Diedra and Ward Wixon of West Point, Iowa; 2 sons and spouses – Skip and Gay Dixon of Wynnewoood, Okla., Dewayne and Tonda Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla.; 6 brothers and spouses – Guston Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla., Cleteus and Dena Dixon of Wynnewoood, Okla., Floyd and Shirley Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla., Robert and Sue Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla., Gerald and Debra Dixon of Wynnewoood, Okla.,and Dib and Chalene Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla.; sister and husband – Lelia and Jesse Spurlock of Midwest City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood, Okla., officiated by Rev. Lynn Phillips. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.
