Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Joseph “Joe” Gibson of Wynnewood, was born December 19, 1954 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Raymond and Irene (Amos) Gibson.
He passed away May 6, 2013 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years.
The Garvin County area has been his home all of his life with over 20 years in Wynnewood.
Joe served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He worked for many years in construction with the Ram Jack Company in Ada, and worked for several years for the City of Pauls Valley.
He later became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CAN) and lately has worked in the Janitorial Department for the Ada Gaming Center. Joe was a member of Sandy Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Candice Gibson; 2 brothers, Lester Gibson and Chester Gibson; and 1 sister, Ethel Wallace.
Surviving family include his son, Eric Gibson of Wynnewood; 3 brothers: Clifford Gibson of Durant, Anthony Gibson of Oklahoma City, and James Gibson of Pauls Valley; as well as a very good friend, Joyce of Antlers, and Eric’s mom, Magdaline Hickman.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Steve Wall.
Interment was at Sandy Hill Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
