Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — George Wesley Mozley, 95, of Maysville passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 in Norman, Okla. He was born April 19, 1918 in Shawnee, Okla., to Cleve Mozley and Edna (Grove) Mozley.
George enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1938 and served until Dec. 1, 1941 and with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he was called back into service until June 1945. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and 1 Purple Heart. He also served his country in Sicily and North Africa under General Patton.
George moved to Maysville in the late 1950s where he worked as an engineer at the Burford Corporation for 20 years before retiring from Hendershot Tools.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 10 at the First Baptist Church in Maysville with Rev. Steve Spangler, Rev. Jim Paslay and Rev. J.V. Lobaugh officiating.
Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville.
