Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Mary Edna Cottrell of Wynnewood passed away June 4, 2013 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years.
Mary was born October 7, 1944 in Artesia, New Mexico to John J. and Effie Mae (Montgomery) Johnson.
On June 6, 1964 Mary Edna Johnson married Everett Earl Cottrell in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of Cottrell Mission. Her activities include going to yard sales, crocheting, playing scrabble, working jigsaw and word puzzles, and yard work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie Johnson; her husband, Everett E. Cottrell; daughter, Katrina Lorene Cottrell; and two brothers, J. P. Johnson and Curtis Johnson.
Surviving family include her children: Evelyn Childress and her husband Jimmy of Front Royal, Virginia, Rex Cottrell and his wife Brianna of Prim, Arkansas, Royce Cottrell of Oklahoma City, and Weldon Cottrell and his wife Heather of Wynnewood; seven grandchildren: Leah Hoover and her husband Lynn Natalie Childress, Wesley Cottrell, Tristen Cottrell, Rayne Cottrell, Grace Cottrell, and Hana Cottrell; one great-grandson, Lynden; two sisters, Oleta Barrett of Covington, Texas and Retta Atkins of Kingman, Arizona; and one brother, Calvin Johnson of DeLeon, Texas.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 2013 at Cottrell Mission officiated by Bro. Orville Cottrell, Bro. Jeff Wilcher and Bro. Steve Pope.
Interment was at Lewis Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
