Jack Leland Nabors

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Jack Leland Nabors of Elmore City passed away May 10, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

 Jack was born November 17, 1933 in Binger, Oklahoma to Zeb and Mertha (Simpson) Nabors.

 The Pauls Valley area has been his home all of his life. He served in the United States Air Force in a veteran of the Korean War.

 On October 25, 1956 he and LaVern Couch were married in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He began working for the Ridley Packing Company in Duncan and later managed a local motel here in Pauls Valley, and then began working for Halliburton in various jobs until his retirement in 1995.

 Jack greatly enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, as well as playing golf and being around his “coffee shop” buddies. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pauls Valley.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: DeLos Nabors, J.C. Nabors and Zeb Nabors Jr.; and one sister, Louise Sanders.

 Surviving family include his wife of 56 years, LaVern of the home; two daughters and their husbands: Sheila and Danny Tucker of Pauls Valley, and Debbie and Jeff Dahl of Edmond; 5 grandchildren: Mitch Tucker and his wife Sally, Mallory Crosier and her husband Robbie, Kelsey Dahl, Jordan Dahl and his wife Megan, and Jacobi Dahl; as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Lilly Tucker and Betsy Tucker.

 Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance.

 Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
