Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Chrystal Marie Garner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma entered this life born to Stanley and Laura (Ivy) Huffman in Pruitt City, Oklahoma on November 24, 1923 and entered eternal life on March 22, 2013 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 89 years.
She grew up in the Foster and Cox City areas and later worked at Douglas Air Craft during the war.
Chrystal and Sam Carl Garner were married January 5, 1945 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. The couple established their home in Oklahoma City where they raised their children. They were devoted to each other and enjoyed many years of living and loving until his passing away in 2002.
Chrystal was a devoted homemaker and devoted person of faith. She was always at Sunday school and worship. She read her Bible daily, lived out Christ’s teaching in her life and was the spiritual leader of her household.
Chrystal had a passion for gardening, eating freshly grown vegetables and cooking good foods; all a part of taking care of the physical body as God’s temple.
She was impeccably dressed at all times. Every day she bathed, dressed, applied her makeup and put on jewelry.
She and Sam loved to travel. They traveled to Hawaii every year. She was a beautiful, tall and graceful, gracious and well-traveled person. Her quiet spirit endeared her easily to others.
Chrystal was preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Garner; son Joe Don Garner; parents Stanley Huffman and Laura Bunn; and brother Bill Bunn Sr.
Survivors include her daugher Sandra Kay Garner; two brothers Don and Jimmy Bunn; sisters Mary Moore and Peggy Blundell; three grandchildren Kimberly, Judd, and Matthew; and six great-grandchildren Chelsea, Spencer, Camden, Garrett, Gentry and Molly.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Mimms offitciating.
Interment will follow in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
