Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — David A. Coker passed away peacefully Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Pauls Valley General Hospital.
He loved his home at SORC, and all his caregivers. David was born July 11, 1959 in Harlingen Air Force Base Hospital in Harlingen, Texas to Charles and Martha Coker.
David’s world was very unique and special. He touched so many people for the better. In his way, he loved all and all loved him.
David was a client of the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center for 45 years.
Reverend Bill Crawford, Contract Chaplain at SORC, presided over a memorial service on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in Damron Chapel on campus.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the Duncan Cemetery, Duncan, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Crawford officiating.
Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
He is survived by his parents of Duncan, Okla.; two brothers and their wives: Stewart and Beatrix of Edmond, Okla., and Douglas and Margaret of Davis, Okla.
Also two nieces,Virginia and Rebecca, and four nephews: Douglas, Charles, Jacob and Lucas; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by many loving caregivers and staff members of SORC.
His parents wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude for all the kindnesses extended to them at this time of trauma, and to the staff and physicians at Pauls Valley General Hospital for good care.
