Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Jacky L. Warren of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Frank and Mamie Turner Warren November 1, 1937 and passed away April 19, 2013 at the age of 75 years.
He grew up in Pauls Valley and graduated from Pauls Valley High School and played on the Pauls Valley Panther football team.
During his childhood, Bert Edwards was Manager of the Oklahoma City Paper and he told Jack “When you can carry a hundred papers on your bike, I will give you a paper route.” Jack may have weighed 90 pounds, but finally made and loved throwing papers.
Brent Carlton was a special friend of Jacky. Brent moved to California to be near him and they loved to ski and did so every weekend.
Jerry Wilkerson was a special friend from childhood. Their mothers were both devote members of the Nazarene Church. Jacky and Jerry were drug to church Sunday night, Sunday morning and seven days a week when there was a revival.
They stayed in touch during Jacky’s years in California. When he returned to Pauls Valley, their friendship continued to bring both of them joy.
Jacky served in the U.S. Navy and after being discharged owned and operated a service station and convenience store in California where he lived for many years.
He returned to Oklahoma and lived on Grand Lake where he enjoyed boating and fishing for many years before moving to Pauls Valley in the early ‘90s.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Warren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Joel Dowing officiating.
Interment was at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
