Pauls Valley, Oklahoma —
Roy Wyley Mullens of Pauls Valley was born September 26, 1919 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Roy William and Juanita (Mauldin) Mullens.
He passed away October 27, 2012 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years.
He served with the 7th Hourglass Division and 49th Field Artillery Battalion where he was a Gunner United States Army. He earned the rank of Corporal and was a veteran of World War II.
Roy was awarded the Good Conduct Medal; American Defense Service Ribbon and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Two Stars. He served in the Aleutian Islands, Northern Solomons and Southern Philippines Ryukyus.
He worked as a Process Operator for Warren Petroleum in Maysville for 35 years.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary on October 31, 2010; a sister Verda Mullens and two brothers, Leo and Hubert Mullens.
Surviving family include his son and his wife, Terry and Carol Mullens of Pauls Valley; two grandchildren and their husbands: Casey and Kyle Schmitz of Norman, and Shelly and John Knight of Oklahoma City; and two sisters: Juanita Clark of Pauls Valley, and Loreata and her husband Bonney Martin of Wynnewood.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery officiated by Bill Jones.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
