The Stratford Lady Bulldogs picked up a big win over Fort Towson Friday night defeating the Tigers 49-44.

Despite playing with only five girls suited out, the Tigers were able to maintain a lead until the final three minutes of the game. McKenzie Miner hit back-to-back three-pointers in a 9-4 run late for the five-point win.

In a slow first quarter, Ft. Towson scored first but Stratford scored 8 straight over the next six minutes for an 8-2 lead. Destiny Browning hit back-to-back three-pointers for the Tigers tying the game at 8 at the end of the quarter.

Those two three-pointers sparked what turned into a 12-0 run that gave Ft. Towson a 14-8 lead.

The scoring went back-and-forth over the final five minutes of the half. The Tigers built a 9-point lead late in the half but Miner's three-pointer and Angel Wood's free throws cut the lead to four at the break, 23-19.

Those final five points of the second half carried over into the second half as the run was extended to 13-1 as Stratford took a 27-24 lead. Smith tied the game with a three-pointer for Ft. Towson as the Tigers outscored Stratford 6-2 late for a 30-29 lead.

The game went back-and-forth through the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. With the score tied a 40, Lakelynn Anderson broke the tie with a free throw and Miner followed that up with back-to-back three-pointers for a 47-40 lead. Stratford would maintain that lead the rest of the way for a five-point win.
