The Stratford Bulldogs rallied with two second half touchdowns two win their second game in a row defeating a tough Rush Springs teams 14-7 Friday at Blackburn Field.
Bulldog quarterback Randy Brown threw a 30-yard touchdown strike to Dakota Noland and followed that up with a 30-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to bring the Dawgs all the way back for the win.
Rush Springs struck early in the game scoring on a Holden Nichols 9-yard run in the second quarter to take a 7-0 lead.
The Bulldog offense finally found the end zone in the third quarter when Brown hit Noland with a pass and Noland raced 30 yards for the touchdown. The extra point missed and Stratford found themselves down 7-6 in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Brown broke free on an option play doing 30 yards for the touchdown. Brandon Stokes hauled in the conversion pass from Brown giving Stratford a 14-7 lead.
Stratford defense kept Rush Springs out of the end zone and the Bulldogs came away with a 7-point win.
Noland led the Bulldogs on both sides of the ball. He had 152 yards on 21 carries on offense and had 10 tackles on defense. Wright finished the game with 9 tackles.
Brown finished with 47 yards rushing and 71 yards passing on 4-of-13. He also had the lone interception for the Bulldogs.
Trey Helm led the receiving corps with 41 yards on three catches.
The Bulldogs open up district play on the road at Caddo Friday night against the defending Class B State Champions.
