Warriors fall to Cashion

marie@pvdemocrat.com — Maysville played tough Friday night but couldn’t catch the break they need to knock off Cashion losing 54-20.

The Warriors played evenly with Cashion in the middle of the game. Cashion only outscored Maysville 26-20 during that time frame of the second and third quarter.

Dylan Kordeiski scored three times for Cashion, Joe Neece had two receptions for touchdowns and Jesse Lyon had two more rushing touchdowns.

Trey Willoughby was a part of all three touchdowns for the Warriors. Willoughby rushed for two touchdowns and threw for a third. He finished with 173 total yards, 132 of that though the air.

Kordeiski would score Cashion’s first two touchdowns on runs of 5 and 3 yards.

Willoughby would get the Warriors on the board in the second quarter with a 1-yard run as Maysville cut the lead to 14-7.

Matt Harman would had Neece with a 62-yard touchdown pass for Cashion and Kordeiski would add his third touchdown of the night on a 7-yard run for a 27-7 halftime lead.

Willoughby would lead the Warriors down the field to start the second half and score on a 35-yard run as Maysville cut the lead to two scores.

Harman and Neece would hook up again after Willoughby touchdown this time form 74 yards out.

Maysville would come right back. Again Willoughby would lead the Warriors down the field and Willoughby would hit Dakota Henry with an 18-yard pass for a touchdown cutting the lead to 40-20.

Cashion’s Lyon would score on a 1-yard run and then on a 24-yard run in the fourth to lift Cashion to the 54-20 win.

Maysville finished with 216 yards in total offense. Henry had 20 yards rushing, Derek McGuire had 19 and Dalton Elmore 15 yards.

Defensively, Cale Bailey and Henry led the way with 11 tackles each. Henry also added a sack and a fumble recovery. Elmore and House both ad 9 tackles each.

Maysville will face rival Elmore City-Pernell Thursday night.
