Panthers headed to state — The Pauls Valley Panthers finished third and district and third at regionals to advance to Monday’s State Golf Tournament in Ardmore.

Pauls Valley has been consistent in their state tournament quest shooting a 316 in 18 holes in district at Purcell and a 657 in 36 holes at regionals at Lake Murray.

At district Matt Henry led the Panthers with a 74. Daniel Whitehouse shot a 75, Garrett Fisher a 78, Carter Tate an 89 and Kevin Mendoza a 98.

At regionals, Fisher led the way with a 162. Chase Ensey was not far behind with a 163, Henry had a 166, Tate a 169 and Whitehouse a 170.

Plainview won both the district and regional tournaments and the Panthers will be chasing them again this time at Lakeview Golf Course in Ardmore.

The 54-hole event with swing into action Monday morning with the teams playing 36 holes.

They will follow that up with 18 more on Tuesday to determine the Class 3A state champion.

One Lady Panther competed in the Class 4A Golf Championship held at Lake Hefner South this week.

Molly Livingston shot a two-round total of 193. She finished tied for 33rd out of the 74 girls that made it to the State Tournament.

Hannah Ward of Poteau won the event shooting a 149.

Hilldale was crowned the team champion with a two day total of 698 two stroke ahead of Ft. Gibson.
