District 3A-4 honors football players

marie@pvdemocrat.com — The Pauls Valley Panthers didn’t collect any of the big hardware when the 3A-4 District Honors were handed out this week.

Plainview with their deep run into the playoffs had a majority of the awads.

Plainview rnning back Austin Carrera was the District MVP. Plainview’s Taber Jordan and Sulphur’s Ryan Rackley shared the Offensive Player of the Year.

Gage Kennedy of Plainview was the Defensive Player of the Year. Daniel Martinez of Purcell was the Special Teams Player of the Year.

Most Outstanding Awards went to: Drew Rolin of Purcell quarterback, Dominique Gavia of Purcell running back, Wyatt Jones of Sulphur tight end, Tanner Vernon of Lone Grove receiver, and Keller Claxton of Plainview and Collin Potter of Dickson co-offensive linemen.

On defense Clay Crabtree of Plainview defensive lineman, Kastin Spencer of Plainview defensive end, Tanner Watson of Sulphur and Brandon Winblood of Dickson linebackers, Terry Rowe of Lone Grove safety and Brandon Locke of Plainview corner.

On special teams Trey Tulley of Plainview kicker and Vinny Martinez of Plainview kick returner.

The Panthers had several 1st team players and honorable mention players.

Being named to the first team offense was Shawn McClellan of Dickson running back, Taner Campbell of Pauls Valley tight end, Samuel Bomd of Madill , Joe Avery of Madill, Nate Hoben and Carter Bowker of Plainview, receivers, Rowdy Votaw, Gatlin Looney and Karson Green of Madill, Caleb Jones of Pauls Valley, Aaron Thomas of Atoka Tye Brown and Caleb Duck of Sulphur and Dylan Grant of Plainview offensive linemen.

On defense Daniel Thygesen of Madill and Payton Sweeten of Dickson defensive line, Charlie Heitland of Sulphur, Kevin Mendoza of Pauls Valley and Cameron Hanan of Plainview defensive end, Tristan Johnson of Lone Grove, Chanler Towler of Dickson, Jake Hamilton of Pauls Valley and Zane Manley of Plainview linebackers, Keagan Davidson of Sulphur and Junior Meave of Pauls Valley at safety and Gereall Jordan of Madill corner.

Honorable mention on offense was Carter Tate of Pauls Valley quarterback, Marshall Scott Madill receiver, Brody Winter and Colby Lindsey of Purcell, Colton Wimberly of Pauls Valley and Daniel Beishline of Plainview offensive linemen.

Honorable mention on defense was Eddie Thomas of Atoka defensive line, Dakatoh Buckaloo and Colby Caldwell of Dickson linebacker and Manny Colmenares of Pauls Valley kicker.
