Elmore City-Pernell wins wild won over Wewoka

marie@pvdemocrat.com — Edgar Gonzalez continued to churn out the yardage for the Elmore-Pernell Badgers in a 33-31 win over one of the district favorites Wewoka at Wheeler Field.

Gonzalez had 194 yards on 33 carries with four touchdowns to lead the Badger offense. Cole Ratchford raced around the 100-yard mark again finishing with 93 yards for the Badgers.

Derek Medford had only one carry Friday night but he made it count scoring from 15 yards out. Tyler Sharp had 13 yards rushing and was 1-of-1 passing for 21 yards in the Badgers win.

The Badgers had 315 yards on the ground.

The Badger defense came up big to help secure the victory recovering a Wewoka fumble late as they held on for the win.

Elmore City will be at Wynnewood on Friday as they play the last of the three Big “W’s.”
