Lady Panthers fall to Jackets

marie@pvdemocrat.com — The Pauls Valley Lady Panthers season came to an end Thursday afternoon in Elgin with a 54-44 loss to the Kingfisher Lady Yellowjackets.

Pauls Valley junior Kallie McMahan had a huge game with a team high 21 points.

PV trailed by double digits in the first half but made a charge in the second to close the gap to 7.

PV had the ball and had a chance to cut the lead down but McMahan’s three just missed and Kingfisher went on a run to open back up a double digit lead.

That would be as close as they would get Kingfisher would hold off the Panther rally for a 10-point win.

The game was back-and-forth early on as PV led 2-0 and 5-2.

Kingfisher got hot late in the quarter and into the second with a 9-0 run and they were off.

Kingfisher led 13-9 after the first quarter and 30-17 at the break.

Pauls Valley out scored Kingfisher 27-24 in the second half.

Matthews was a big part of the early and late success of the Jackets scoring 24 points. She had 4 three pointers and was 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.

McMahan led the way with 21 for PV. Jessica Richardson added 9, Mary Beth Balcerak 8, Tristan Ledbetter 4 and Kaylee Lambeth 2.
