The Stratford Bulldogs season came to an end over the weekend with a 47-7 loss at Talihina in the first round of the Class A playoffs.
Talihina jumped out quickly scoring 20 seconds into the game but it was another 12 before they go on the scoreboard again and then reeled off 28 straight points for a 34-0 half time lead.
“Talihina is a good team with a lot of great team speed and they just got on us early,” head coach Michael Blackburn said. “I was proud of the season the guys put together.”
Talihina led 47-0 in the thid quarter beford Stratford’s Montie Thomas ended the shutout with a 3-yard run. Thomas led the Bulldog offense with 76 yards rushing. Jacob Compton added 34 yards and Chase Bradstreet 20.
Compton led the defense with 14 tackles and Andrew Whitebuffalo added 11.
“We will miss the seniors and have a lot of young guys that we expect to work hard and if they will, we plan to see good things from them in the future,” Blackburn said.
