JV Panthers advance to finals — The Pauls Valley JV Panthers advanced to the finals of the Chickasha Tournament with an 8-6 win over Bethany on Friday. 

Treston Williams pitched 6 2/3 innings to get the win. Eddie Johnson came into to get the final out of the game and the save after Bethany had scored three runs on a two hits and an error.

The Panthers got on the scoreboard in the third. Noah Meave led off the inning with a single. He moved to second on a passed ball and to third on a wild pitch. Meave would score on a passed ball for a 1-0 lead. 

Sager walked with one out and advanced around to third on a pair of wild pitches. He would score on Noah Davidson’s ground ball out for a 2-0 lead.

Bethany would cut the lead in half in the bottom half of the inning with a run off a hit and error. They took the lead in the fourth after a couple of hits and an error giving them a 3-2 lead.

PV regained the lead in the fifth as Meave singled. He moved to second on a passed ball and scored on Johnson’s single. 

Johnson would move to second on a fielder’s choice and score on an error. Davidson who reached on the fielders choice scored on Coleton Jolley’s double as PV took a 5-3 lead. 

PV added three insurance runs in the seventh. Sager started the inning with a single and Davidson followed with a single. Baker hit into a fielders choice that got Sager at third. 

Davidson stole third and scored on Colin Arie’s bunt single. Jolley singled to load the bases. Baker scored as J.T. Starr reached on an error. Arie scored on a ground out by Manny Cardoza as PV took a 8-3 lead.

Bethany would rally in the seventh with three runs. Bethany had three singles in their first four batters to score one run. An error scored another run and a passed ball the third before PV could get the final out of the game.
