The second big tournament weekend in the state wrapped up over the weekend with two tournament champs.
The Stratford Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs won the Alex Longhorn Classic. This was the second tournament championship for the Lady Bulldogs this season after they defeated Cement in the Alex Longhorn Classic finals 41-36. Coach Fulkes and the Lady Bulldogs are 10-2 on the year as they head into tonight’s game with Wynnewood.
The Bulldogs had an impressive tournament winning three games and cruising to an 89-53 win over Fox in the finals.
The Stratford JV squad won the consolation finals beating Paoli 56-52.
The Pauls Valley girls got a big win to get the monkey off their back as they beat the OKC Knight 53-21 in the Charles K. Heatly Classic seventh place game. After playing two of the best games of the season, Pauls Valley laid an egg Saturday losing to Purcell in the consolation finals 44-20.
In the same tournament, the Lindsay Leopards picked up a big win beating the OKC Knights 60-45 in the seventh place game. The Leopardettes lost a heartbreaker as they rallied against Plainview in the third place game but came up short 61-60.
In the Jim Easterling Classic in Earlsboro, Maysville dropped a pair of seventh place game. The Warriors lost a 55-46 battle to Sasakwa while the girls lost to Maud 41-24.
There is limited action around the county tonight but Friday everyone will be back in action.
